4.1 General
Student organizations are registered and administered under the Student Organization Registration Policy and the Administration of Registered Student Organizations Policy. Their privileges and responsibilities depend on their registration tier or category. Student organizations must comply with applicable university policies and procedures, including those governing events, finances, use of university space, and use of university names and trademarks.
4.2 Financial Management

Student organizations must manage funds according to the requirements for their registration tier or category in the Administration of Registered Student Organizations policy. Campus Life Organizations and Supported Student Organizations must conduct financial transactions through the Student Organization Business Office or an approved supporting university college, department, or unit, as applicable. Affiliated Student Organizations and General Student Organizations must conduct financial transactions through an external bank account and may not use a university Master File Key or the university’s nonprofit status for that account.
Student organizations must follow applicable requirements for receiving and spending funds, cash handling, contracts, sponsorships, fundraising, sales, and use of university resources.
